Hi, everybody. It's the first day of Spring and I hope you all have a great one. I had planned to have the latest pair of socks done yesterday but will settle for today or, at the latest, tomorrow.

Well... I finished two pair of socks within the past couple of weeks - having joined a "12 Months, 12 Socks" knit along sponsored by WY Fiber Skeinks [a Ravelry group I'm in]. I hope to post photos soon.
The first was a plain knit pair in Austermann Step that I really liked knitting with. Very soft and great color gradations.

Just a quick thought - thanks Jesse for sparking this -
Do you belong to both Men Who Knit and Ravelry's group, MWK? If so...do you find yourself using one more than the other?

Hi everyone -
Putting on my social justice hat for a moment to encourage everyone to wear purple tomorrow in support of at-risk youth, especially those who are LGBTQ, for what is now known as "Spirit Day".
I first mentioned this about 4 years ago here on MWK and decided it was time to bring it up again.

I've not done an update lately. A busy summer and first few weeks of college starting. But, hey, we set new records for the college bookstore, so that's a good thing.

Not that much, knitting-wise. I've been working on a few projects that have stretched out for a few months. I recently saw the "Hibernation" category on Ravelry projects page and thought it appropriate.

Yesterday, I logged into MWK and it came up with a bright red border and lettering in the format. No profile photos and the member count and Shout box weren't visible. Everything else was there even though you had to look at the linkups to find them. I noticed that Darrel and Admin were also logged in at the same time as I but, given the current security concerns on the internet, I figure an update may have been in progress. Anyhow, I'm glad everything is back to normal and hope I didn't inadvertently get scammed.

As part of a "March Madness" challenge on a Ravelry group I belong to, we were to pick 3 projects to accomplish during March. Mine were: 1) The Skype beanie. 2) Finish the "Spiraling Purl" socks. 3) Begin a new project with the 2nd skein of yarn used for the socks.

I finished the hat last night and worked in the ends so that it is reversible. I'm very pleased with how it knit up and it serves to keep the Wyoming wind off my head.
The first sock was finished last week and 10 rounds of ribbing are knit on the second. The colorway is more impressive in the skein but the final results are nice enough that a trip to the frog pond isn't necessary.

Here's a hat I'm knitting with my friend, Luke. He's much further than I am but I'm not letting that bother me. I really like the interior texture; it may become the outside once the hat is finished. The yarn is from Mountain Meadows mill, here in Wyoming.
