Happy new year from the UK.
We went shopping with some friends of ours before Christmas and came across a rather fetching waistcoat/tunic affair in a very nice shop. It was knitted in 1x1 rib and straight... By which I mean no hem.

Dear knitting friends,
You'll be pleased to know that I entered in to the spirit of life in the country by finishing and entering a colour work cardigan for the Sheldwich Lees village fair...and I was a little irked to come second to a first-prize-winning set of eggs with stuck on plastic eyes.
Anyway, I share the photos for you all....

Some of you may remember that I was working on a cabaret opera based on the true story of the Papin Sisters...well it's on this year in Bath:
Then in Orkney (I'll be stocking up on their marvellous locally-produced North Ronaldsay wool)

I just thought I'd check in and let you know that I'm still alive. I've been keeping up to date with all of your busy creativity over the last while but things have been busy and hectic and I haven't had the space to say hello - so I thought it was time.

I'm knitting a cardigan with a button band edge in moss/ seed stitch. I noticed that I'd done a wrong knit or purl a few rows back and thought I'd just unravel back and redo with a crochet hook....but fixing it doesn't seem to be working and I've got a very sloppy looking bit which looks worse than the original mistake. 8 could rip back the rows but I'm knitting the whole body in one piece and it's a lot of knitting. Am I doing something wrong? HELP!!!!'!!!!!!!!!!!!!
