Any Men Knitting in Southeast Michigan?

Hi Men,

I think knitting is a terrific way to relax. Would love to find other guys in the Southeast Michigan (Detroit, Ann Arbor) area who would like to get together and knit. It would be great to have some good conversation partners while working on projects. Hope guys will message me if you are in my area and interested!

NEW BOOKS

Hey y'all!
Not been here for a long ole time.
I firstly apologise I have been head deep in designing contracts and not been surfing the knitting sites as much as I did.

Since I been gone, I have written 2 new book and wanted to share them with you all.

Hetman vest by Olga Casey

I am attempting this vest (http://olgacasey.blogspot.com/2011/08/hetman.html), but being a relatively new knitter, I have questions.

First, I need to up-size this a bit, any clues as to how o do this?
Second, there are instructions to "add a stitch" for the back of the vest. Does this mean I should make a stitch, or is there another technique I need to learn?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Menknit.net

Yesterday, I was sorting through old knitting patterns and etc and I found some articles from "Menknit - the world's first 'zine for men who knit". The last issue I have is dated 2006. I suppose I had forgotten all about them over the years as I've moved away from spending so much time at the computer. I did try their web address (www.menknit.net) but it only comes up as a resource page.
So, does anyone know what's become of this e-zine or the man who created it?

Dakota Dreams Stranded Slipover

I just finished this garment this week and thought I'd share it. It is called 'Dakota Dreams' from the book "Fearless Fair Isle Knitting". As you can see from the design, it really isn't a Fair Isle pattern but rather it is a modern design done in stranded knitting. There are two offerings of the garment: this colourway for men and a softer one in blues for women.

help with a pattern

Hey all,
So I am reaching out because I am having a hard time reading this pattern. This is the first time for one of my projects to follow any form of a pattern. I am attempting to make the mens slippers but am getting very confused with the notes at the end of the pattern. I attached a second pattern that had a little more past the adjustments for the men's pattern.

Thanks
Chris
