knits: finished and otherwise

Well, the last time I wrote it was concerning the hat and giftcard. Good news! I did finish the hat in time for the gift exchange (barely) and I did decide to give the friar a giftcard as well. In fact, later on this past holiday season I ended up giving another giftcard, so I guess my tirade against them has been officially quelled. As it turns out, the same friar whose name I had drawn drew my name, and he gave me a giftcard to Michael's... they know me too well here at the friary.

Speaking of holiday season, I hope everyone had a delightful one, and I'm sorry I didn't get that out there earlier. I don't dabble with the internet all that much when I go back home, because the dial-up is rather slow. Anyway, I've done it again. I've put another project on my plate when I know I have two others to work on. But I just couldn't resist trying out the set of double-pointed needles. So now I'm doing my first hat in the round. In fact, it is my first time working with real wool and doing ribbing as well! I'm only about three inches into it, which is what I get for not sticking to just one thing. Now that school has started up again I have become less motivated to pick up my needles. However, I think now that I've looked at this site again after some time away, I am once more inspired.

Sorry I still have no photos to post, even if the work isn't finished.

Pax et bonum,

Thanks for the update, Ian. Any knitting time is quality time...even if you do have to rip out something for the fourth time. [At least that's what I keep reminding myself - not that it helps that much.] Lots of luck with the hat, any other projects, and school. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
