Ravelympics Spinning and more

This is some of the mini mochi I got at Imagiknit today.
another view of the same yarn , but a bit closer and bigger. Mini Mochi is a one ply 80/20 merino/nylon blend great for socks.
Just wanted to share some of what is going on in my life and something fun. I enjoy videos and this gives me the opportunity of doing so. Thanks for stopping by!

Andy, I'll be very interested in seeing what you do with the carbonized bamboo/nylon blend, and to have you're review of it. Thanks for the video.

Albert I am hoping to make some sock yarn and as soon as I get done with the spinning I will ply. The bamboo is very soft almost like silk, the near mere is a nylon blend that simulates cashmere,so I am hoping it will do well with a sock yarn. more to come.

Feliz Día de San Valentín Andy!

I LOVE Mini Mochi! I've made a couple of pairs of socks out of it, but just one word of advice--DO NOT PUT IT IN THE DRYER! The instructions say that you can tumble dry on low with the superwash wool content, but they WILL shrink. I gave my Mom a pair of socks for Christmas that were out of the Autumn Rainbow colorway (BEAUTIFUL). Yesterday, she told me,
"Sweetie, I'm SO disappointed. Your FATHER (peering at him with fevered disdain) put my socks in the dryer and now they don't fit!"
I always lay my socks flat to dry (no matter what the fiber) and had given my Mom the same directions. With a little interrogation I discovered it was actually the 3rd time they were dried with my Dad only committing the last offense. Of course, she asked me for another pair. I told her that was her test run to see if she was qualified and responsible enough to own a pair of hand knit socks and she FAILED. The sock nazi came out: NO MORE SOCKS FOR YOU! Of course I'm a big softee and started to cast on a new pair for her when I got home. Yes I'm a sucker!

I LOVE the colorway you have Andy! It's beautiful! BTW...I'm a big fan of your crocheted hats!

If some sissy tried to kick my ass I would say, "Hey, Mary, go knit me a sweater before I slap you in the face!”

Andy, your videos rock! Thanks so much for them. I wish we all could do videos instead of just typing all the time. But I'm not complaining. This is a great site and I'm hella grateful for it, as the kids say these days. But thanks for that video. I always enjoy them. Thanks!
