Sea Glass

At last, another FO from me. This one was a bit more intricate and small than the last couple so I got a little tied up in it. It's actually the Forest Ridge scarf from Ravelry but the beads I added to the edging remind me of back home when you find the Japanese sea glass washed up on the rocky beaches in the rain. It's the third of a trip of gifts for some friends at work. I'm going to go in early Saturday morning to give them to them and I hope to have a picture of them all modeling the wares. The other two were in my last post.

I also got a few more hats done for my little side project. I forgot to get pictures though, so I'll throw those up if I get a modeling picture.

This is a really nice even if sometimes tedious pattern for those interested ins tarting lace work or learning triangle shawl construction, and if you love it you can make it bigger for a full sized shawl. The edging is... laborious and boring but in the end it's worth it. It didn't help that in row 17 when I put in the beads I was so focused on getting beads placed I forgot there was a pattern change and didn't catch it until two rows later when the next pattern change wouldn't line up. So then I got to tink back 380 stitches for two rows, remove all the beads and try again. I believe there was a bit of cussing involved. But alas, I learned a valuable lesson which is "You don't get paid to knit at work and if you need to pay that close attention to it, save it for home". Needless to say, it's been a VERY slow week at work, but I guess that's good news for the town of Casper.

Ok, enough rambling. I hope you all have a great weekend.

Great work and love the colour.

Have been knitting for years. I knit continually then will try another craft, but will return to the needles.

That blocked up really nice, Q. The picture with Sully in the background is precious...such an angel in disguise when he's sleeping. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
