As a belated 40th birthday gift, I had the pleasure of taking 3 knitting classes this weekend with the wonderful Sally Melville. She was kind, generous, and a wonderful encyclopedia of knitting knowledge. I am now ready to tackle knitting with more than one color (at the same time, on the same row) which most of us know as Fair Isle, though this is not true Fair Isle, so I learned this weekend. I also now know what to do with the leftover balls, hanks, and skeins from those long finished projects. I also learned to custom fit a sweater to work with my body shape, size, and imperfections. In addition to all this I made two new male knitting friends whom I spent the afternoon with at The Yarn Club in Virginia Beach, VA. I had a great weekend and feel as though I have renewed my love of knitting, life, and family. Onward to the Southeast Men's Knitting Retreat, in just over 2 weeks!
