Hi guys, I haven't posted in a while so I thought I would show you all what I've been up to. My friend, Camille's birthday had recently come up, and we're both really big Doctor Who fans. So when I saw the bigger on the inside shawl in the last issue of Knitty, I knew I had to make it for her. It is also my first handspun/handknit project. I've been recently been learning to spin on a wheel that one of my knit night ladies lent to me. I've been spindle spinning off and on for a couple years now. The fiber was a 8 oz batt of superwash merino that I bought at the Yellowspring's Wool Gathering a couple years ago. The yarn came out as a little thick and thin (between lace and heavy fingering) 2ply. Overall I think the shawl came out quite lovely, and awesomely geeky!
I also made here a pair of socks out of the Time Traveler colorway in KnitPicks Felici sock yarn.
Last, but not least. I want to introduce you all to my new pattern the Sun Storm Cowl. I made it out of Creatively Dyed Yarn, Mist (100% cashmere) in her Fifty colorway. I've got the pattern all written up, and now I'm working on getting it tested in the free test knitters group on Ravelry. If anyone here is wanting to test knit it, PM me your email, and I will be more than happy to send it to you. When it's ready it'll be a freebie on Ravelry as well. I'm just starting off designing so I'm trying to build a good pattern repetoire. I hope to do a few men's sweater patterns in the future to help fill the void. There are a few ideas floating around in my head; it's just getting the executed.
My photos of the cowl were too big so I couldn't attach them, but here is a URL to my ravelry pattern page:
