Cute YouTube vid

Saw a cute You Tube video while filtering the net for patterns, yarns and LYSs. (anyone have any suggestions for LYSs in La Jolla, CA? I'll be there for the next couple weeks.)

Knitters vs Crocheters " Wooly Bullies"

Forget La Jolla. If you want to and have oodles of lettuce you don't know what to do with, you can hit:
Knitting in La Jolla
909 Prospect St. La Jolla CA 92037 800-956-5642

However, when I'm in San Diego visiting the parents, I run up to Encinitas (about 30-40 minutes north) and go to:

Commom Threads
466 S. Coast Hwy 101 Encinitas CA 92024 760-436-6119

It's located at the north end of town on the west side of the street. It's teeeeeeeny but wonderful. Go to the back room for great lace yarn from Henry's Attic.

(Tell them Mike from Tampa sent you. They'll remember since I teach at Uncommon Threads here in Tampa. =^D)

- after which I head back to the south end of town and spend a few hours at the Self-Realization Fellowship Retreat Center gardens. you can't miss it . . . Look for the HUGE lotus blossom towers on the ocean side of 101. Park and walk in. It's free and wonderful. You can knit there in peace and/or meditate on the ocean and gardens.

Ain't a bad way to kill a few hours.

~Mike in Tampa (who also would like you to know about another yarn shop not far from the Retreat Center named Black Sheep (1060 S Coast Highway 101 Encinitas, CA 92024) . West side of the street at the end of a block. They have Gorgeous GREAT stuff but the owner is a certified pissy witch and the rest of the staff ain't so hot, either. If you can stand to deal with that attitude thing, you can find some wonderful weird yarns in there - just don't expect them to go out of their way in terms of customer service.)
