Lace Scarf

ronhuber's picture

Inspired by all of you lace knitters, I bought some silk and merino in fingering weight and found an easy pattern to knit this scarf. It will be a Christmas present for my friend's sister who lives in the Maramichi in New Brunswick.

I would love to knit this scarf. Could you tell me where you found the pattern, please? It's beautiful. Also, I love your color choice.

Don't think I've run across that particular pattern - what's it called? Can you give a link to it?

(BTW - nice work!)

Love it. Love it. Love it. Can't wait to see the pattern as so many have already asked.

On a multiple of 8 stitches
Row 1 and 3 - Purl
Row 2 - k2tog,yo,k 3,yo, k2togtbl (or ssk) k1
Row 4 - k2, yo, sl 1 k2tog psso, yo, k3
Started off and ended with 3 rows of garter and added 3 stitches at the beginning and 3 at the end which I kept in garter always slipping the first stitch.
I used 5mm with the fingering weight ( 50 gm) and it really blocked out. I will have to get some blocking wires (any hints where) as the pins sort of scalloped the edges.
Thanks for your kind comments.

Ron, the scarf looks beautiful, and I like the combo of silk and merino, so soft. The receipient should be very happy.

KnitPicks have blocking wires, but you may find others as well.
