Vintage Socks

I knit these from Regia Strato Color on size 2 DP bamboo needles. They are from a 1936 Minerva pattern and turned out to be more like knee socks. They are very warm and comfortable and I'm glad I made them to wear around the house since it got down to 32 here in Southern Florida last night! I'm on a sock kick right now; something very satisfying about knitting around and around for hours, LOL.

Beautifully knit! But why are you standing on your head? 32 degrees?- sounds like a heat wave from where I'm sitting.

Awesome! I've been wanting to start working on socks (after years of avoiding them). Those are just the kind I'd like to make, but with an argyle pattern. I heart vintage - nice job.

Thanks! Make sure you check out the Yarn Harlot. She made a pair of argyle socks for an Xmas gift and has step-by-step pictures of descriptions and some great links for help with argyle sock knitting on her website. (See the December 31, 2007 entry).

I'm getting ready to make the argyle vest out of Rowan Scottish Tweed from the book "Knitting For Him" by Martin Storey and Wendy Baker. If it turns out well I want to make a pair of matching socks. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress!
