Labyrinth Finished! Happy 33rd to me!

teejtc's picture

Unbeknownst to me, without any intention to do so whatsoever, I managed to finish the final touches on my labyrinth just as the clock was turning over to my 33rd birthday. Fun. huh?! Anyhow, just thought I'd share. Here's a pic of front and back. The back shows a few mistakes and the front shows that I knit quite a bit tighter int he middle than the ends. Oh well - maybe some light blocking will help with that (what do you think..would it help?!)

All in all, I'm really happy with it.

Grace and Peace,
`tim

It's beautiful as is.

Great work and as you say a little bit of blocking will fix those areas, and a happy birthday.

Have been knitting for years. I knit continually then will try another craft, but will return to the needles.

He still has four more months for that! ^_-

Anyway, fantastic work on the labyrinth. It is definitely a very interesting design, and I shudder to think of all the effort that went into the wrong side rows. Are you thinking about it for wall hanging?

I knew someone would say that.

Happy birthday. Your labyrinth looks good. Stranded knitting can take some getting used to, I'm on my third Fair Isle sweater and still have problems with the tension. Still, it's the journey, not the destination...

Outstanding!

...and Happy Birthday.

I just celebrated 35 on the 3rd

Just wanted to throw in that it probably isn't your tension causing to pull in in the center but the nature of the stranded color work itself. The center pull in because that is where the bulk of the stranded section is, the rows with less color changes have less pull.

It looks great.

Someone else told me the same thing about the stranding. I blocked it today, I think it'll hold its shape -- it didn't take a lot of work to pin it down.

That's incredible, it looks quite large too. What are the dimensions. Oh, and Happy Birthday!

If it keeps the dimensions that I've blocked it to it'll be 22x22 inches.

I didn't plan on a particular size, that's just what it came out as.

Did you graph this out? Are you going to make the graphs available? I'd like to try converting it to a lace shawl.....(hey, I convert *everything* to lace shawls....)
