Addicted to String

This is my first post here.

I'm a long time knitter who took up spinning about 6 or 7 years ago.

I currently am working on two sweaters and a pair of socks. I always have a pair of socks on the needles, they are my take along project -- I don't need a pattern and handknit socks are always nice to have. The current pair are multicolored, hand-dyed merino tencel blend. They look gorgeous and feel nice, but I won't be knitting any more socks with this yarn as it just doesn't have enough give. It's very inelastic and I like my socks to be a bit more stretchy and cushy than this.

Welcome, Jarrett!  Did you dye and spin the merino tencel sock yarn?

I'm just learning to spin, so I'd love to see more spinning-related discussions.  I know this is Men Who Knit, but maybe we should have a Spinners' Corner.  I'm teaching myself on a drop spindle and watching e-bay and craigslist for a great deal on a wheel!

Nope. This is commercial sock yarn.

I have spun a merino tencel yarn and it was yummilicious stuff to both spin and knit. I ended up making a couple of lace scarves from the yarn which were very well received by the ladies I made them for.

If you think knitting is addictive, wait till you get spinning... It's the crack of the fiber arts world.
