Here is my first attempt at Designing

chipsir's picture

Well here it is my first attempt at designing a pullover for myself using one of Kieran Foley's designs. I would have liked to knit it in the round but the colour standing is in two panels seperated by 40 plain sts.

I admire you for doing Fair Isle back and forth. I have done it but I find it so difficult. I think the design you are doing is lovely. Nice choice of colour. BTW is there a fiber fair in Toronto in April?

chipsir's picture

I believe the DKC hold there annually fibre thing at the end of the month, try searching for "Downtown Knitting Collective". I know I will be missing it as I am in Parry Sound that weekend the 25th and 26th

Excellent! I love the color combination. Anxious to see it completed.

Really very, very nice. One day I hope to do something similar. Thanks for the inspiration.

Can't wait to see this completed - it's wonderful.

I did Fair Isle back/forth one time and that was enough! The colors are great and the work looks so clean and even. Have to ask if you hate the purl rows?

Oh yes with avengence......I just gird my loins and work across it hoping not to make a mistake lol.

I'll say it again. You guys are great! And up for the challenge. I like the idea of capturing one of Kieran's designs with a sweater. Personally, I'm still, in my 'juvenile' knitting stage...hehe, thinking more in terms of solid knitting rather than the open patterning of lace. Wow! This is excellent work!

Lovely, your stitches look sooo pretty! Love the design by the way!

That's pretty damn impressive...doing stranded two-color knitting on both knit and purl side with increases and decreases and designing as you go.

At least I'm impressed...especially since I've never even done the two-color with increases and decreases.

Looking great too.

Yowza!! Fantastic knitting and colorwork. I've never attempted to do stranding on the purl side...getting it done on the right side can be enough of a chore. And that's if you don't even try weaving the yarns as you carry them. Can't wait to see the final sweater. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

That's just too amazing! I can't even fathom that level of knitting.

Thank you Scotty, everytime I see your comments I keep meaning to tell you that I have a Westie also, he likes to sleep in the crook of my leg, he is only content when he can feel me next to him.
