I saw a shawl that I'm trying to copy - it was a simple trianglular shawl knit in stockinette (with a knit on border - which I figured out) but every eighth row was a drop stitch except the drops ran horizontally - as did the stitches. Each row increased by two stitches on each end until about halfway where it increased by four stitche per end. And as I said the stitches ended up running at 90 degrees to what they would run on say a normal scarf/shawl/sweater, etc. (On the drawing, the arrow points the direction that the points of the stitches run.) So....how do you knit that - the only way I've figured it out would cause the dropped stitches to run vertically. I've drawn a rough picture of it here - anybody know how to do this?
