Boring but comfortable cardigan

ronhuber's picture

I finished this cardigan a month or so ago but just washed and blocked it today. My friend Miguel tried it on but I had knit it for myself and it is much too large for him. It is made with Jamieson and Smith Sheltland Wool on 3.25 mm needles. Nice mindless knitting in the round with a steek that I didn't bother securing as the Shetland wool really sticks to itself. It is so cozy and perfect for the fall evenings. I think it will make it to the top of the list of my comfortable sweaters.

That is not boring, that is a classic! Looks great, although as you said a little too large for your model :)

What a great cardigan, would love one in my closet

Have been knitting for years. I knit continually then will try another craft, but will return to the needles.

Yes...classic indeed. A very similar sweater was one of the reasons I first wanted to learn to knit, although I ended up making a very different sweater. Yours is the perfect sweater to throw on when you go to the movies, or just sitting around the house knitting. Very nice.

Beautiful knitting, Ron! Makes me ashamed that I haven't worked up the nerve to try a cardiagan yet. It looks quite cozy on Miguel- you might have to fight him for it.

I love the simplicity...really beautiful

The sweater is terrific and looks great on you. A comfortable, no nonsense "homage to Fred MacMurray" cardigan is a wonderful staple to the wardrobe. Enjoy it.

Ron, it may be "mindless knitting" but you've made a great job of it.

I think it looks great, despite the simplicity.

Not boring at all. I think it's beautiful!
