Hi everyone. I just finished knitting a pair of fingerless gloves. I used some leftover yarn from other projects. I still have to weave in those pesky little ends and block them before I wear them in public. And the other thing I have been working on learning is some new stitch patterns using cotton yarn in small rectangles. The "linen stitch" has a wonderful texture and lays fairly flat (it does curl and roll slightly at the edges). I think I will make a couple of washcloths with these stitch patterns.

Hello all. I continue to be inspired by the various projects everyone shares on this site....I'm continuing to work on basic socks and mittens. When I work on mittens this time of year, I feel like a squirrel getting ready for colder weather and that thing called winter. And just for fun, I knit a couple of small balls and stuffed them with bamboo fill. The pattern came from Susan Anderson's book "Itty Bitty Toys". I'd like to make about a dozen in several colors and put them in a bowl. They are wonderfully squeezable and tactile.

Hello all. Thanks for all the support on my first sock project. This week I just finished the other sock of the pair. The whole process was much quicker and easier.

After I finish my first pair of socks, I want to buy some good sock yarn for another pair of socks. Frankly, I have been overwhelmed by the number of different "sock" yarns available.

Hello all. Warm weather and spring are finally here in Minnesota. It's nice to be able to knit outside. I'm learning how to knit socks. Socks share a lot of the techniques in making mittens.

Hi all. Finally it's beginning to feel like spring here in Minnesota. I am making another pair of mittens. I'm being a little more adventurous with using two colors.

Hello all. I am getting the hang of knitting in the round. I just completed the first of a pair of mittens done on double pointed needles. At first, things felt very clumsy and awkward.

Happy New Year....How do I knit even looking stripes of color when knitting in the round?

I finished a simple stockinette stitch hat and mittens. Both were done with 2 needles and required a seam. I did learn the mattress stitch. I got better at this stitch as I went along.
