Good Evening All,
Back is off the needles. Thought I'd also have 1/2 of the front done but had a surprise visit from my daughter-in-law and 20 month old Grandson. They came up and spent the weekend while my son was away on business. HAd a great time but did not get much knitting done.

I am finishing up another simple lace scarf for a friend of my son. It is a lovely light grey fibre 100% mink. I should be done this weekend. Then I am either going to do Jared Flood's Rock Island Shawl or his Timberline Shawl Collared Cabled Cardigan. What does the group think and which would you like to see first.

Watching the Olympics and knitting. What a great combination and getting a lot done on my daughter-in-law's linen scarf. JRob

The scarf is coming along nicely. Using a size US6 needle. I really like the way the color combinations of the color ways I've selected are coming together. I think my daughter-in-law is really going to like it. JRob

Scarfs done in the linen stitch have been popular now for a while. Rather than being knitted back and forth across the width of the scarf these patterns are knitted along the scarf's length and in the round. The middle section is 20 plain knitted stitches and when finished you cut across the mid point of this section unravel and the braid the fringe . I am using four skeins of 100% Merino Wool by Koigu Wool Designs in Williamsfort, Ontario Canada in four color ways. I've included a picture of the sample in the store where the yarn was purchased.
