Finished these for a friend's new arrival. Both of these were fun knits. Hat is a free pattern called Aviatrix...knitted flat using short rows. Fun and quick. And the duck feet booties are from Cute Knits for Baby Feet by Sue Whiting.
I'm really pleased with my latest design in Love of Knitting Winter 2012. They did a great job picking the model and styling the photo. You'll see the back in the second image, which reverses the mosaic and striped sections from the front, and adds a white stripe across the center of the black section to mirror the white section with black stripe.
These crocheted afghan pants were unveiled by me at Show and Tell at the West Coast Men's Fall Knitting Retreat. Wearing them today as part of my Halloween costume!
The new Love of Knitting Holiday issue has my Making Waves hat and scarf set in it. Check out the image and description from their website, http://www.loveofknitting.com/articles/Making_Waves_Hat_and_Scarf or see attached file.
My vest design, Boardwalk Vest, is now available as a free download as Love of Knitting magazine's Summer 2012 web bonus! Check it out! http://www.loveofknitting.com/articles/Boardwalk_vest
Josh Bennett is the featured designer in Rowan Magazine 51 (just published), and you can download the six sweater patterns for free. I have a direct link to the pattern download in my latest blog entry, along with a video link where Josh describes the inspiration for the sweaters. Check it out at www.goodforaboy.com.
Check out the attached image of my neckwarmer design called Gills Gaitor. It's available as a free download at www.skacelknitting.com. (Click the free patterns link, and then Simpliworsted Patterns.) Skacel sponsored a one skein project competition among the participants at the Men's Fall Knitting Retreat. Karin Skacel decided to purchase all the designs, and make them available as free downloads.
Attached is a photo of Lace Wrap blocking. Pattern is from Vogue Knitting Winter 09/10. I used three colorways of Indigo Moon Handpainted Sock Yarn. The repeats are all the same size (photo skews perspective a bit). It's 22" x 78". The pattern has a smaller rectangle (not pictured--still knitting it) that is sewn perpendicular to one end, making an "L". The longer piece hangs down the front for a dramatic effect!
Check out this new pattern on Ravelry, that's published in the newly released Jane Austen Knits by Interweave. The designer, Jenny Sorensen, lives locally and designs for our shop, Northcoast Knittery (Eureka, CA). This vest is very nice!
Attached are some images of my recently completed Harmonia's Ring Cowl that I made for myself.
