Well, a couple of weeks ago, I finally finished the "Hooray for Hollywood" piece that I posted images of a while back when it was still a work in progress.
The finished piece is about 6' by 5' and I've got it hanging on the wall right now. Each "portrait" is approximately 12" square.

I'm sitting here joining panels on my Hollywood knit project. As usual, Turner Classic Movies is on TV, and this morning is "Mr. Lucky" starring Cary Grant and Laraine Day (1943). Cary has joined a women's auxiliary that raises funds for the war effort, mostly to get closer to Laraine.

These were a bit easier to do than Kate Hepburn. Jean Harlow and Humphrey Bogart.
Trying to decide who's next:
Have worked up graphs on Spencer Tracy, Myrna Loy, Ava Gardner, and Clark Gable. Any suggestions?

Well, third time's the charm on this one. I did two other versions before I was satisfied. Even then, I performed a little "cosmetic surgery" with the help of a few duplicate stitches to get details just right.
Still, I have a few reservations, but I'm not doing Kate one more time!!!
Let me know what you think.

Well, after several delays -- and some plain old laziness -- I finally finished the Cary Grant pattern. Other than his cleft chin (Groucho had his mustache, glasses, and cigar; Bette Davis had her "eyes"), he doesn't have any physical characteristics that stand out. So I'm not sure how good a likeness this is. I mean it's kind of hard to capture his charm, elegance, sophistication and accent in knit, I guess.
Anyway, here he is.
Next up: Katharine Hepburn

Thanks again, everyone!
I want to respond to some of you individually, but I've been a little "scattered" (scatterbrained) lately, so have put that off until the brain cells are functioning a bit more rationally.

I can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I posted anything on this site. And just re-read all the nice comments about my work. So a very belated "thank you" for all of your comments and compliments.

Well, I just checked and I've been a member of this site for 35 weeks now, and haven't introduced myself or posted anything.
