Finished and blocked Lopi sweater, just in time. Flying to Iceland tomorrow for some R&R with friends. This sweater should be WARM, at least warmer than I'll ever need in Central California. It was a fun knit and really my first bit of color work of this size Yarn is the Lett Lopi yarn knitted on size US6 and US7 needles in the round, bottom up to sleeves, then sleeves are knitted and all are attached and yoke is completed.
So, I started a Lopi sweater out of the Lopi Magazine #31 called Jon. This is the progress so far. I've finished the body up to the level of the sleeves, now I need to cast on the sleeves, work them, then combine with the body to do the yoke.
I took a class last week with one of the local yarn groups (The Yarn Mavens). We took over a the Bead and Yarn Studio in Bakersfield, CA (who'd a thunk!). There were about a dozen ladies, me and a lot of chatter. Here's what I ended up with at the end of the day.
Just wanted to wish everyone a happy Spring. I haven't been on the site for a while, but can't wait to get back through the forums to see what all I've missed... besides all of you.
Best to all, hope all are full of hope and health!
Finished this hat for Sabrina of Anzula Luxury Yarns. To be used at her booth at Stitches West.
Hey guys, just wondering what knit-worthy things I need to try to hit while in NYC this month. I will be staying and working at the new W NY Downtown (by World Trade site).
Traveling Woman Shawl knitted with Anzula Luxury Yarns "For Better or Worsted" colorway - "Denim".
size US8 needles. Took about 400yds. Yarn is 80% superwash Merino, 10% cashmere, 10% nylon.
Finished my sweater. Did a few changes to the original pattern. Pattern and Pattern support were great. Although a simple "just shut up and knit it the way it's written" probably would've sufficed.
Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery - Wool & Mohair
Needles: Size US6 and US8
changed buttons to a zipper and moved inceases and decreases in 5 stitches from the edge for fully fashioned shaping.
Thanks Mathew for the help!
Just was wondering who all was going to be going to the Men's Knitting Retreat in New Zealand March 4-7, 2010.
I just booked my tickets (very excited about that!).
I feel as though I've worked on this all year, but I think it's taken me about 8months to finish this fully beaded, lace shawl. I am calling 2010 the year of selfish knitting.
