My son showed me a pair of gloves he got today and conductive yarn was used in the fingers so the wearer can use a cell phone without taking off the gloves. I am going to do some research on this and write an article about it. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever used conductive yarns? If so, what did you make?

Since June I have been struggling to find a pattern or formula to make what I consider a sock that fits and will nicely adjust to needle size and yarn thicknesses. Thanks Ken in Main for all your help and the suggestion to use Yarmando's Evil Sock Genius lessons. He just makes a sock make sense for me. I especially like that once the heel is turned there is no annoying hole with which to contend, which seems to be a common struggle among novice sock knitters like me.

I head off to my journey driving from Chicago to my new home in central Florida. I am staying with one of our knitting buddies in Atlanta, Lou (AKA olddancer on Ravely) and I am really looking forward to that. The wine is in the car and so is my knitting stuff. It's funny. With all the items that I handled, and I handled all of them, it brought back so many memories. It's amazing how we have "snapshot" moments in our lives that come flooding back to us as one touches an item, or smells a scent. I also found things that I lost many years ago and eventually bought new.

ILHIKER is now known as CLABBERS.
I decided to change my member ID to CLABBERS to celebrate starting a new life in Florida. I picked CLABBERS because I am an avid Scrabble player and Clabbers is type of Scrabble. If you are interested in it, you can find out what it is at:
My photo is also changed as well.

I am trying my best to find a pattern for a plain sock using 4-ply Knit Picks Stroll Tweed. I really like the way the stitches look when I use circular needles US 1, 2.5mm. For the life of me, and I have been trying all summer, I can't find a pattern that fits me. I'm getting 10 stitches/in in plain stockinette, with 13 rows/in.

It is amazing how difficult it is to learn a new skill. With this pair of ankle socks, I was bound and determined to conquer the Wrap and Turn stitches in the heel. The first sock was ripped out several times, not because I hadn't learned to do the W&T but because I let my concentration wander and made silly little mistakes. The second sock, I finished last night and I turned off my computer, TV, phones, etc., etc. I had to giggle because as I passed each spot where a mistake was made on the previous sock, I nodded at how careless I had been.

I can't remember where I found out about this Web site, but I have found it very interesting. If it was shared here on this site, pardon the duplicate posting.
Here is a quote from their homepage that explains their goal.

Here is my latest blog article that I wrote for the good folks at Stitch and Unwind. If you get a chance, please check it out. I wrote the article about decreasing using circular needles using this hat because it was requested in the comments to an earlier article.
