My thoughts this Monday morning

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for being active members of this great site, and for being as supportive as you are, both for those of you who are experienced knitters, and for those of us who are just learning all of the beginning knitting stitches.

Not to mention, your recent support for Gene and for Peter Mark for their individual, yet very important to them, and to us a a group.

Afghan pattern

Okey dokey...I need to ask a question.

I'd like to do an afghan for a Christmas present. Yes, I realize that I probably should have started on it months ago, but I DID just discover the joys of knitting this summer. :-)

My first posted project

I've attached my first real project. This is a baby blanket I've made for the expected granddaughter of a friend of ours. It was done on a Knifty Knitter loom (41 pegs) and took me about a month to do. It's done in garter stitch in three strips, and an I-cord, and then sown together. I finally got everything sown together after midnight last night!

Knitting cartoon

My partner's niece posted this on Facebook earlier today. I don't know whether or not she's a knitter, but it's hilarious! Although it does show stereotypes.... :-D

The Sirens beckoned me...and I went....

I know I'm a very "young" knitter, and when I joined this group, I was all into loom knitting. I still enjoy it, and am working on a baby blanket for a friend's granddaughter.

"Zen and the Art of Knitting"

I picked up the abovementioned book at a used bookstore this weekend. I've started reading it, gotten through about 25-30 pages, and had to lunchtime was over! The subtitle is "Exploring the Links between Knitting, Spirituality, and Creativity."

Newbie Knitter question

Hey guys, I'm a really new knitter, having discovered a passion for knitting recently by using round looms. I haven't crossed over into actual needle territory, because I am having so much fun, and becoming severly addicted to this new passion.
