Am I the only one getting a "You've got a private message" notification every day? I've cleaned out my mailbox. I've got nothing in there. It's getting a little frustrating. What gives?

So if you go to http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/ and click the YouTube Videos of the Week link under the picture, you'll see a short clip from today's Good Morning America. It features a clip from a guy who won a dance contest, and part of the trailer for Real Men Knit, including Bill and me!

Wendy's DVD Real Men Knit is out! You can buy it and see more than one of the guys on this site! I'm the one on the bottom row in the yellow sweater. :)

I recently got an iPod, and subsequently discovered podcasts. I've currently got KnitCast, Cast-on and It's a Purl, Man on my subscription list. For those of you who listen to podcasts, and specifically knitting podcasts, which ones do you listen to? Are there any specifically male ones (It's a Purl, Man is, I know). And what is the feeling on getting together a community podcast? Is there any interest in it (like different authors on the podcast, in a collaborative effort)?
This is where my mind goes.

Gentlemen, the new knitty is up. It's all socks, gloves and hats. (Yes, jpaul, SOCKS. BY THE BUCKETLOAD!)

I gave my partner two skeins of Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock yarn in the Pinstripe colorway for Xmas, because he's been wanting some fingerless gloves so he can still type when his hands get cold. I, being the loving man I am, offered to learn how to knit said fingerless gloves. Here's where the 'because I'm dumb' part comes in: I don't have a pattern. I thought about doing the Broadstreet Mitten from Knitty for him, since they're made with a sock yarn, but he wants the thumb to be cut off, like the fingers. Is that something I can do? Just bind off where I want them to stop? Also, the instructions for the other hand say 'just reverse the instructions'. Vague much, then?

Someone on LiveJournal posted a link to The Panopticon today. It's fabulous. I giggled. It totally needed to be shared.

I got my design sent in to MenKnit last week after the blocking fiasco, and the second looks just as good as the first did. And I just finished the fringe on the THIRD one, the one that my boss at the yarn store commissioned for a store model. I'll block it tomorrow and get it up to her on Tuesday before I head to Ohio for vacation. And another friend wants one for a Christmas gift for someone in his life too. (And yeah, I'm purposefully being a little cryptic about it, since I don't know if it's gonna get published. If it does, I'll make big squealy noises and point it out.)
Now I've just got the shawl and poncho for a friend in Michigan, a baby blanket for some friends, and then I get to work on my sweater. It won't be ready this winter, alas, but next winter, most definitely I'll be wearing my Galway Guy.

Since I know I'm safe to post here because he doesn't read this, I just need to share a tale of woe.
So I designed and knit a scarf for the upcoming issue of MenKnit. On Friday, I had wet it down to block it and had it wrapped in a towel to dry it out, and laid the towel across the back of our couch. I had a photo shoot on Saturday and was gone for about 3 hours for it.
In his defense, I didn't tell my partner what the towel was. He's also a compulsive Virgo, which means that he NEEDS to clean.
I got home from the shoot and sat down at my computer. About 10 minutes later, I turned around to look at him where he was crocheting on the couch. I noticed that the towel was gone. In the back of my mind, I also noticed that the washing machine was running.
