Waterfalls Stole

Finished it. (Amazing what you can do on a couple flights between US and China!
This was knit using a yarn called Shahrazade from Henry's Attic. I used size US10 needles. I have yet to block it so it will probably get to be about 20-24" across and about 9 feet in length. This is from the Knitters' Ponchos and Wraps book. Its all knit and then you drop stitches as you bind off. (there are a couple more steps, but that's it in a nutshell.)

What beautiful work. Give yourself a pat on the back.

...but nine feet???
...is this for a six foot six womsn?

It's a wrap, dammit!!
I hit a point of no return trying to decide to leave enough yarn to do fringe, or knit up the entire skein... so I knitted the skein. Who'd'a thunk it would've added another couple feet.

Nine foot long for a stole is not too long - as my niece pointed out to me, one of the most common ways to wear a stole is draped on the back over each shoulder and then falling gracefully down the front. Even on a short woman the back loop can take three feet, leaving only three feet on each side to go over the shoulders and down the front.

MMario - ambiguity is cultivated, it doesn't happen in a vacuum!

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

9 feet or not....it is purdy. I think MMario makes a good point. I know I tend to think in terms of shorter but in reality when I see alot of stoles etc, a graceful wrapping can make the difference.

Great job! It's really beautiful.

Looks fantastic,
I didn't think you could knit on a plane nowadays.
Must check next time I'm flying.

you can, but it's best to check with your airline, you get less of a hassle if you use wooden or plastic needles, and it seems that circulars are getting less notice than straights.

Wow, I really want to see it on someone - preferably someone that looks good in a little black dress. It looks absolutely lush. I can totally see it walking done a red carpet with that little black dress.

I wish I were knitting now.

beautifully done. It really has the look of elegance. I too get a lot of knitting done on planes and in airports.
