The Sweater Quest Is Over!

I think I mentioned that I was on a quest to make a sweater that fit me. Well, at long last, the quest has ended. Here is the finished product, fresh off the needles and being blocked on the woolly board. This sweater was also a great learning experience. I'm glad I did it. Can't wait to wear it to school.

Fan-TAS-tic, Geoff! All the textures look great together. Is there a cable in collar, too? It might just be the picture, but it looks like a slight twist is going on there. Very striking.

Thanks! Yes there is a cable as a shoulder strap and it continues down the sleeve to the cuff.

Excellent work! How did you come up with gauge? What yarn is this, and what needles?

Buck Strong's picture

Thanks so much!

Hmmmm.....gauge. The evil gauge. I just followed the directions and knitted a swatch in the round. I lucked out, the gauge was correct the first time. The yarn is Cascade 220, Pumpkin Spice and I did it on US 6.

Looks great Geoff, and good design.

This is a great looking sweater in a nice colour with interesting panels. This should inspire your kids to knit.

No better feeling than to proudly wear and exceptional looking sweater around people who know you knit to have them ask, "You didn't make that, did you?"

I've trained my partner well to always answer that on my behalf so I don't have to sound like I'm bragging.

WOW- nice sweater. The ribbing? The neck? Also seems like the shoulders have some interest up there? Very cool work Buck. I haven't explored the cable yet! Perhaps my next project should include some sort of braid.

Very handsome. I'm coveting your "wooly board", however.
