First Knitting Project

Despite my deep eagerness to move onto something big, I have ultimately decided to keep my first project simple. I am knitting a scarf with some leftover yarn I had sitting around the house. I am using a Caron(R) Simply Soft(R) yarn. The color is Dark Country Blue, which I love because it is the closest thing to my favorite color that I could find in any of my local craft shops. I'm ribbing the scarf, alternating 1 purl, 1 knit stitch for a smaller rib. I'm not quite sure how this will turn out, but I will be certain to keep you all updated on my progress.

it should turn out great - nice and strechy - warm because the single rib will give it almost double thickness.

BTW - should your scarf not use all that blue yarn - consider a square or two for the Knit a River project.

MMario - I don't live in the 21st Century - but I play a character who does.

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

Can't wait to see the finished scarf.  Please keep us posted

Knit enough scarves and you can sew them together to make a nice striped blanket!!!

Be sure to post pics!!!

best of luck! you have to put pictures up of the finished project! can't wait to see.

You have waaaaaaay more hair on your chest than do I.  The one thing I HATE about socks is that ribbing business.  K2, P2 is pure torture to me so doing k1, p1 would be 7 rungs below the lowest rung in Dante's Amusement Park.  But, if that's what makes you smile and preen, I say, "ONWARD, then!  Storm the Battlements, Ohio."

You MUST post a pic when you get a foot into it.  Can't wait to see what you've done.

Alles Beste,

3rd Time = A Pattern!

A ribbed scarf is a great way to go...both sides look great!  The double thickness will make it extra warm, and the yarn you're using works up beautifully!  You'll be proud to wear your scarf as soon as the weather cools sufficiently!
