No second sock syndrome--with a twist

I just bought this pattern on Ravelry:

Everytime I see a new sock pattern, I think I've seen it all, but this is a great way to make two socks at once while finding out if you prefer toe up or cuff down construction.

Not a bad investment for $4 -- I can't wait to get these on the needles :-)

Has anyone completed a pair of these yet?

steeked socks?

That has a nice ring to it.

that's what it looks like. Looks interesting and a method I would never have thought of. Perhaps another way to recycle sweaters?

Actually, this is a common way of making socks on the antique circular sock knitting machines.

Since you turn a toe the exact same way that you turn a heel on those machines, the process starts at the toe of the first sock, is worked up to the top of the cuff, separated by waste yarn and then knit down from the cuff for the remainder.

It makes it easier if you have a ribber attachment so you can do all the ribbing for a pair of socks at once.

Would definitely be another sock challenge! I guess I should add it to my "Wanna try that" list. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
