So... I will be in Chicago in a few weeks and I want to know the great yarn shops are. Any thoughts???
Was there last November with the Midwest Men's Knitting Retreat. Loopy Yarn is where we all met. We also went to Lorna's Laces and saw a demonstration on how they dye yarns. Didn't have much time to scout around for other shops since we met on Thursday (I think) and left the following morning for the retreat back in MI. If you get a chance, try Hamburger Mary's for dinner and pretty much across the street is a coffee shop with delicious pastries where we sat and knit as a group until they were ready to close. How long will you be there?
Not a big fan of Mary's... but I do like delicious pastries... well... anything sweet...
Both places I will check out. We get there the night of the first and leave the morning of the 5th... So, I will have plenty of time.
Loopy Yarn is great!! It's in the old Dearborn Street Train Station. I don't get into town a lot so I don't know about any other LYSs in Chitown. Loopy always seems to be my yarn stop when I get into the city.
I remember someone else saying something about Loopy... I will check that out too.
I think Lorna's Laces in also in Chicago.
Ohh... I have me some of that... :) I must find this and go. Google, here I come...
