Bored Bear

So yeah. I have just moved from having two roommates into an apartment by self (for now) and am finding that I have a lot more time on hands than I used to. I have no one to socialize with in the apartment and no cable tv (got tired of messing with converter box and antenna). That being said, I've been catching up on a lot of my DVDs and watching some shows online. Well since I had no one to talk with while watching these shows, I needed something to do. Earlier this week I went online and searched for a simple stuffed animal to knit. A few days later (would have been done sooner if I could focus more) I finally finished the bear. I'm not too pleased with his little face, but I am please with how well the whole project turned out. I plan on making more as gifts and to possibly donate. The bear was made with yarn bought at Big Lots (soft and only $1) The bow around his neck is yarn hand spun by a friend of mine in a medieval organization (Adria). Thought I would share my first real project.

He's really cute, Christopher - nice job! And pretty ambitious for a first project.

great job....he's adorable. Some one would love to carry him around. Keep up the good work.

Oh how cute! What's the pattern?

I know the "no-roommates-no-TV-gosh-what-should-I-do-with-these-needles" syndrome. Be careful. It's hard to readjust to life with less time for knitting. Maybe I should see a counselor. ;-)

Faces are hard. Still - he's a pretty good looking bear!

He is a very adorable bear...maybe you could make a whole bunch of them for your local hospital children's ward or an organization that helps kids. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

I love it! Very Americana, man! And I'm a wee bit jealous! All my bears end up looking like potatoes.
