Back in the swing of things

Maybe it was the oppressing summer heat, or maybe it was simply a lack of inspiration... whatever the reason, I didn't really pick up my knitting needles at all in June or July. Then, my mother-in-law was visiting in August and as we walked past the LYS during a neighborhood sidewalk sale she stopped and admired a scarf hanging in the window. Since her birthday was soon approaching, I had her pick out a yarn she liked and told her the scarf would be her birthday present.

While there, I also picked up the Rowan Miniature Classics magazine and saw an adorable raglan cardigan. My brother and sister-in-law, who are die hard Philadelphia Eagles fans, recently had a baby boy. So, another project was born.

Attached are a few pictures of the completed projects. You can see more pictures at my Ravelry page, user name SonOfAStitchNJ

Hope you enjoy!

Very nice work. Great matchup of color, style and intended use. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Nice knitting. What is the name of the scarf pattern and yarn?

Thank you. The pattern is "Slanted Eyelet Scarf" - a very simple yarn-over pattern. The yarn I used is Louisa Harding Grace Silk & Wool - very soft!

The sweater is very handsome, I'm sure they will be proud to take their little one out and about in that sweater.
