My Heart Is Heavy

My Brothers,

On Thursday afternoon we lost one of our own, ETRamblings... a/k/a Elizabeth Tures... Beth joined this site a few years ago when I would rave about the work that was being done by it's members. She loved her knitting and she loved her men and the combination just made her VERY, VERY HAPPY!!! She "lurked" a lot on this site!

Beth was enjoying her day off from work, browsing in a bookstore, when she suddenly collapsed. She passed immediately (most likely from a Pulmonary Embolism). She would have been 42 years old the following day.

Beth coordinated the annual charity knit that collected hats, scarves and mittens to hang on a holiday tree in the waiting room of our local Emergency Room, where she, I and another MWK Member Dawnmo67 all work. She loved fiber and knitting and was an avid, patient knitting teacher for children. In her personal statement on her MenWhoKnit profile, Beth summed it up best in her own words..."I knit with my soul..."

The wake for Elizabeth Ann Tures will be on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Schneider- Leucht, Merwin & Cooney located at 1121 North Seminary Avenue in Woodstock, IL 60098 (815)338-1710 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Visitation on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln... Avenue in Woostock, IL 60098 (815)338-3377 immediately followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m.

Fiber folk truly are special people. Beth was one of the very finest of human beings. Spiritually astute, an amazing listener, intuitive, creative and loving.

We just never know when it will be our time. Communicate your love always and ongoing.

That is so sad when someone so young and vivacious goes suddenly. Perhaps quickly is a blessing. We were fortunate to have had her amongst us for that little time at least.

May light perpetual shine upon Beth and may those who loved her find comfort in their memories of her beautiful life.

Sounds like she will leave a pretty large hole in your life and that of many others.

But it also sounds like there are plenty of good, strong, happy memories to help fill that hole.

How very sad and tragic. She sounds like a wonderful person. Blessings on her and all who miss her. Thank goodness there will be lots of loving memories to help ease the pain and sorrow. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
