This is a VERY easy, VERY quick knit. Highly recommended if you need/want to make something and are out of time!
The pattern is in Classic Elite Yarn's "Picnic" booklet - but basically cast on, increase one stitch every right-side row until you get to the desired depth, then decrease one stitch every right-side row until you finish. The fringe is created by unravelling the first few stitches (so you need to start with more than one stitch in order to have the fringe). And then you can do the shawl/scarf in any lace or pattern stitch you like.
Did I say EASY??
I made this using a US #5 needle and Alpaca with a Twist Fino yarn (doubled). It took about 650 yards in all and made a shawl (made to be worn with the point in front) approximately 70"x25" (and could have been blocked even bigger if desired).
