A Certain Singer's Slouchy Hat

My daughter is in love with Taylor Swift's music. At Christmas we watched a TV music special which featured her music for an hour. There were several scenes in between the musical numbers which showed her more casually. In several of those scenes she was wearing a slouchy hat and often hid her long hair under it. My daughter asked, "Daddy can you please make me a hat like her?" I replied yes, I will see if I can find a pattern. I searched for several weeks and finally found the pattern at Project Hallway on the web. After working out a few kinks in the pattern, a Friday night knit-a-thon, and raw fingers from making sure there were no visible holes, I finally was able to give my daughter a hat she loves to wear. I am very pleased with how it turned out as the yarn is acrylic (easy care for an 8 year old). The first day back at school (last Monday) she wore it all day. I am so glad she is proud to show off her Daddy's work. Enjoy the pics!

When I was your daughter's age I thought my father was a god. I believed he could do anything. I suspect your daughter might think that way too. Beautiful job. I can see why she wore it all day long. It's perfect!

Thanks Tom, She takes it everywhere.

You are a good father and dad, Russell. Like Tom, your daughter is going to grow up with beautiful memories of you. And, when she has to change your diapers, she will not pinch your behind or poke you with a stick. She will still love you. :-)
You did a beautiful job on your daughter's hat. Keep up your good work.
