Copenhagen is dangerous for knitters...

Right now im in Copenhagen on business and today I decided to take a walk around the city and see some sights. Among the numerous sex shops and street hookers. I found a charming little yarn shop which had a gorgeous selection of yarns but one thing that stood out in particular...a lace shawl out of kid mohair and merino, I commented on how beautiful it was and the shopkeeper said she had just finished it a couple of weeks ago. Said it didnt use a lot of yarn and showed me the yarn on the rack... Needless to say shopaholic Mitch came out...I asked if she had the pattern for the shawl and she did, but only in Danish...naturally I was taken in and spent 120 kroner (about 25 USD) on the pattern and 2 skeins of that beautiful comes with a chart so im going to go off that...and with the help of Google translator I should be all set...cant wait to get home now so I can whip out my needles and knit this thing up!!!! Wish me luck!!!

Mitch - if you have problems - ask on my Yahoo group - or you can ask here and I wil transmit. The ladies translated a bunch of Danish (out of copyright) patterns last year and the translations are hosted on M2K2 so they got pretty good at the translations.

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

Go to this web page. When it opens, go to the "Tips and Help" heading, and select Dictionary on the drop down menu. There you will find knitting terms and words in several languages including Danish. I've printed these lists, put them in plastic page protectors, and keep them handy in a three ring binder. Hope this is helpful.

Mitch, if you get problems with the pattern you can always ask me. I am Danish, I speak Danish and I knit lace. So there should be a possibility that I can figure out the pattern.
