Here is the 129 yards with 150 grams of beautiful bamboo. Right now the twist is getting set in some very hot water. I  like the tweed look of this baby . One thing is for sure, this yarn is very strong! Thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful!!!! I hear you need lots of twist for Bamboo...what wheel and ratios are you using?

Visit Crafty Andy's Blog This definitely qualifies as high twist lol. A friend of mine suggested I put some hand lotion on my hands to make the spinning easier. That is true of the white bamboo. The carbonized bamboo which is dark is a bit grabby and behaves like wool a lot when drafting. I used the Sonata Wheel with the Fast Flyer and the ratio I believe is 18 to 1 which I have no idea what it means, but I know is the highest ratio the wheels goes. It was plyied with the jumbo flyer in the 5 to 0ne ratio. I think I can do a better job with practice. What I mean by that is that , this is the first time I work with bamboo, and you need to focus on a fiber at a time and with years of experience you will be able to spin almost anything the way you want to spin. I have been spinning for almost 1.5 years, trying to spin every other week and get the muscle memory that I need for spinning.

Very nice work, Andy. I think I'm doing good to get through wool. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
