cardigan for a great mate

Ok - first REAL design!!

Sat down with Damo - stitch cards, pen and paper and have designed my first cardigan. Did the swatch on 17 April 2001 but then ended up travelling a lot for work so this project lay dormant for quite a few weeks.

Saved by a wisdom tooth operation....five days off work in the house with a "fat head" meant I nailed the project!

The front and back stitch is "Ladder Tile" a 20 row repeat pattern (mult. 12)

Sleeves were a 5 x 2 rib

I knitted the body flat but the sleeves in the round. In hindsight, I would have done the whole thing in the round.

Coco inspired for one of the biggest, beefiest, kings of high camp! I am really happy with the results.

I gave it to him and he went straight out to the bars to show it off :) success!!

Great design, Paul! The fit looks perfect, too.

"Success" is right! It is a very sophisticated and classy cardie. I like the pattern and especially the brown with the gray. The sleeve joins look perfect.

I see you're just across the Tasman from me. If you're ever in Hobbit country, let me know.

Very smart looking cardie, you should be proud of it.

I like the ladder tile repeat. It adds a nice texture to the larger flat areas that are common in other sweaters. Very handsome!

Wisdom teeth - yuck. Sweater - great! I like the style, and the fit seems perfect; I hope I get to the point where I dare take on a project like that!

Thanks Boys,

I still cant beleive that no one commented on his camp "fashion pose". He wanted to do a fashion shoot which was just too funny!

Okay...I'll comment on the pose. Yowza! Looks as if he had fun showing off a great cardie. Congratulations. The fact he wanted to show it off in the bars is a Big compliment. Great design and knitting. Cheers. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
