Anyone have any thoughts on what this might look good as. It's fingering weight in a tangarine, turquoise and pale yellow color wave.
It could be overdyed into a more uniform colour...and become a sweater...
Another vest, a shawl, a tablecloth, a blanket for afternoon naps, his and his scarves .....
How many skeins are there, and what's the yardage? I like Bill's suggestion if there's a enough yardage, or mabye even another vest.
Four skeins - so over 1300 yds. I'd like to use it all on one project.
Yep, I would think that'd be enough for a vest done on size 3 or 4 needle. It would also make a very nice large shawl... Maybe find some matching yarn to go with it make a nice throw. Right now you'd have enough for a lapghan. Do you know someone who gets cold regularly in the AC and would like something to throw over their shoulders or lap?
Do I see Tuesday Morning tags? Who is the item for? The orange and turquoise are great together. Check Ravelry for ideas too.
Yes you do. That's the only reason I have it. Half price luxury yarn is irresistable even if it is a wierd combination of wool and summer colors.
I've seen those colors together a lot in FL. My mother has a lot of wicker furniture with those colors in the padding. Perhaps if you know someone in FL they might like the coral colors in a loose-knit sweater. The colors are beautiful together.
You're right!!!! It is very Floridian but also Santa Fe .... hmmm.
I think it looks great as a paper weight. That's what it is right? Fabulous! You are sooooo creative! I want to make one!
TG smartly suggested doing some swatches to see where the colors in fall flat and in the round so I think that's a good place to start. I'll post them and see what you all think.
Often people knit one or two rows (or rounds) with one skein and then use another for another two and then back to the original ....... It helps to prevent pooling and the difference in colours from one skein to another (they are hand dyed) is not so evident. I love the colours!
Another great idea - thanks!
I really like the odd juxtaposition of colors. I see surf and sunset when I see the colorway. Is that yarn a single? I used a mochimochi and wasn't crazy about it. Though I have to admit, the softness couldn't be beat.
Enjoy your savings!
Whoa!!! On the table behind the yarn is a basket. Is that a sweetgrass basket??
