Niece's Lace Christmas Scarf Blocked

Good Morning All,

These are pictures of my niece's Lace Christmas Scarf being blocked. I took the day off work to get a few projects done and thought I'd be productive and block this first thing this morning. The pattern was given to me by a friend who own's a local knitting shop. It is one of her designs I believe. The scarf is knitted in two halves and then a kitchener stitch is used to join them together completing the design. After the blocking is done I'll post a picture of the finished garment. The wool is a lovely hand dyed fibre that is washed out with the blocks colors showing through. When you see it naturally it reminds me of sea glass my family collected along the New Jersey shore for the last 50 or so years. She is going to love it. We are giving it to her with a sea glass bracelet set in stirling silver. I hope everyone has a great weekend. JRob

Gorgeous! Yes, she is going to love it! And I see the stash at the end of the road too! :-)

Thanks. That is only part of the stash. My New Year's resolution is not to buy any yarn in 2014 and find projects to make a dent in what I've accumulated. JRob

That is some awesome lacework and the colors are so true to sea glass. Congrats.

Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Hope she loves it.

WOW....amazing work. I admire those who do lacework. The only one I have tried so far is a feather-and-fan pattern. It turned out well, but I aspire to the kind of work you and others have shared on this site.
Well done!
