"Fair Isle Peacock Hat" - Tanis Gray

Morning All, Well after completing 3 projects last week and raking leaves all afternoon, I decided to put a new project on the needles using yarn from my stash last evening. I chose Tanis Gray's "Fair Isle Peacock Hat" which is really a two stranded work using sock yarn. The pattern comes from Carol Sulcoski's book "Sock Yarn Studio". The variegated yarn was hand dyed by her which I picked up at Kirkwood Knittery here in St. Louis when she was doing a book signing a month ago. Should be fun. I'll keep everyone posted though blog entries as it progresses. Here is the beginning couple of rows of the 1X1 rib. Hope everyone is enjoys the weekend and finds some time to get some knitting in. Regards, JRob.

Looks interesting. Is corrugated ribbing a bit tight? I would think there isn't much stretch when carrying floats unless you really watched your gauge.

Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Looks very nice. I can't wait to see it done. I worked a brioche hat in black acrylic and blacklight acrylic, very dark with color poking through on one side and very colorful with some black poking through if you turned it inside out.
