Surprise

After a year or more of false starts and other varieties of grief, I'm glad to report I was finally able to achieve some long-desired goals for the MWK web site:

  • moved to a better web host
  • upgraded to the latest version of Drupal
  • better protection from spambots
  • a return to automated new user accounts
  • a better mobile experience
  • speed. it. up.

I've done some testing, but would appreciate you taking the time to reply to this post with any issues you come across. Some feedback from our color-blind members would be especially great!

The list of new posts on the home page is high on my to-do list. Those of you who use the messaging stuff should no longer see the bogus error about mail not sending. Hurray! For those who scale text up or down, this should be a big improvement for you, too.

I'm going to sleep, but look forward to hearing what I've broken. ;)

Thanks for being patient while the site was down and extra thanks to those who sent me messages wondering what was up. Tadaaaa!

WOW!
...looks good, but I'm going to have to learn my way around. Thank you for all your hard work, Darrel!

Thanks, Bill! All the menu items that used to be on the left are up top. Messages and your profile are in the "my stuff" menu. Just about everything works the same way, so hopefully it won't be too jarring of an experience.

I repeat Bill's "Wow". Thanks so much Darrel for all your concern and work.

I really like the new format. Thanks for all the work you do behind the scenes. This is such an amazing site and it's nice to see that it is evolving even more. I look forward to many more years of interaction from fellow knitters on here.

The things that happen when you are away...LOL. It will take a bit to get used to the new format but I think it will be great. Thanks for taking the time to redo everything.

Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
