Oh my god, I get a blog?

Greetings from South Miami, not South Beach.

Please bear with me as this is my first foray into blogging.  I've heard about these things but never thought I'd actually be doing one.  First, a little of an introduction.   I'm Bob, originally from the Philadelphia area.  I lived in Jersey City for 11 years before moving to Florida in 1998.  I'm just shy of 40 years old but I'm told I look much younger.  I started knitting in December, 2003.  I had originally planned to re-relearn crochet but the knitting store never had enough interest in the class.  I still have the washcloth that was my first ever project.  It makes a great coaster on the computer station.  Since then, I have completed 3 other washcloths(2 knit, 1 crochet), 2 scarves, a pair of baby booties and 2 pairs of kids socks.  The socks ended up in an orphanage in Russia that my knit shop supports.  The rest were gifts.   What I'm working on now is:

A V-neck cardigan for my sister in law.

A vest for me(finally, after knitting for everyone else).

A scarf for a women friend

A pair of socks for my roommate(which I've dubbed the socks from hell, that's a story in itself)

Two practice swatches, one in entrelac, the other in stranded-woven knitting.

A crochet hat, recipient unknown at this point.

If you've made it this far, thanks for reading.  Feel free to drop me a line.

You sound like me Bob ten different things on the go at once, but the problem is you finish one piece, then instead of finishing the rest you start a completely new one.

Have been knitting for years. I knit continually then will try another craft, but will return to the needles.

G'day Craig,

I would have said you were wrong but I started a granny square tonight, which now brings my total to 8 things in progress.  So I've decided to keep my mouth shut on the subject.

Join the club. I have at home knitting, travel knitting, yarn shop knitting, knitting circle knitting, project I work on that day of the week etc.

Right now I have:

Socks - always have a sock project going, easy travel knitting. These are purple using yarn dyed by a friend of mine. Have a candelabra ( primitive knit and purl motif) on these. Finished the first one yesterday, have started the mate.

Sweater - the everywhichway design. Knitted sideways on back and one front; other panel is straight up. Cardigan attached shoulders and side seams. Finished one sleeve from top down, now on the second. Varigated colors of green, reds, grays.

Sweater - in the round from bottom up; at the arm holes ready to start sleeve number one. Yarn is ocean colors a combo of cotton, wool and silk.

Folk Shawl from Cheryl Oberle book of same name. Using a kid mohair and rayon blend purchased in 2000. Have finished just over half - 12 row repeat, using drop stitches to create the look. Time consuming but beautiful. Will probably give to one of my sisters.

Bamboo vest for local yarn shoppe. Designing men's vest with slight fairisle around bottom and armhole bands. Original design and 100 per cent bamboo from Classic Elite. Drapes nicely.

And I have enough stash to last until I am pushing 85.

Welcome to the group.
