stupid question of the week.

I've been wondering about the "buddylist" since I signed up.

What function (if any) does it serve?

Topics:

Hmmmmmmm . . . Well, if you mean the list that appears in everybody's profile of friends (Buddies), I guess it serves as a kind of warning that those people listed are of a like mind as the person in the profile and that the reader should further explore under advisement . . . hee, hee, hee . . .

Thank you, Mike, for an accurate and thorough explanation of the buddy list feature!

While it may sound a bit sarcastic, it really is just a list of people you like. It's most useful thing, perhaps, is that you can click over to a user's profile, track his posts, and have a more n degrees of separation way of getting to know other users on the site.

It's worth noting that not all a person's buddies will show. There must be a certain maximum number allowed by the system and then when that number has been exceeded, any new additions will bump off any earlier ones.
