Addi Turbo Lace Needles

I'm not a lace knitter (at least I don't add the extra stitches on purpose) but Christine (knitmaniac) showed me this website and I noted that Addi has added lace circulars to its line of knitting needles. Maybe this is old news, but I thought I'd put it forward here in case some of the lace knitters didn't know.

I just saw some the other day at my not-so-LYS. I believe they're brass-plated. Also I belive the cords are slightly different than regular Addi's. Apparently, they're not as slick as the regulars so that you'll won't have your lace slipping off the ends, also they have more of a point than the regulars to get into those tiny stitches. My LYS only has them up to size 6 US. I to am not one for lace. My idea of lace is knitting small yarn with big needles. I might get a set though and try them out on socks.

It is a traditional design Fair Isle vest with 12 colours which don't show well in the snap. The pattern is in the book "The Art of Fair Isle Knitting" by A Feitelson. I am almost up to the point of making the arm and neck steeks. It doesn't go quickly because of all the colour changes but it is cool to watch the pattern develop. Thank you for asking!

The sweater is going to be gorgeous. That is what I like about Fair Isle knitting. It has a lovely slow and steady rhythm about it but there is a wonderful surprise around every corner. I'm going to look it up in my copy. Waiting for an order from The Shetland Isles myself. I have to get my head around the fact that it is winter in your land.

I picked up a set a few weeks ago, and have a project in mind for them. I'm doing the beaded fichu from "Victorian Lace Today" with some Lacey Lamb and some fire polished Chek crystal from a local bead shop. They are brass and very pointy with a red cord (supposed to be more supple than the regular addi cords...I'll let you know how it goes.

I purchased several a few weeks ago (size 3 through 6, 32" length). Using the size 4 on the clementine shawlette from spring Interweave using Koigu. The needles are great and make the project so much easier to navigate. I give them a thumbs up.
