MWK & our dogs

This is a book I received as a gift. I am currently working on a sweater vest for my dog. I've got the body finished. Now I just have to work on the neck and body straps. Am intimidated by the concept of sewing velcro onto my knitting, but there's a first time for everything!

Taxonomy upgrade extras:

You can get velcro which sticks to the fabric as well as the stuff that you sew in.

Yeah! I just found that out yesterday evening as I was buying some new needles to replace a pair I accidentally left in an easy-to-chew location. LOL But thanx for telling me!

I just can't bring myself to put a coat on my puppy he always seems warm as it is. Maybe when he gets older.

What kind of dog do you have? My girl's a smooth-coat (short-haired) Chihuahua. She's almost one year old, and as of her last vet visit (a couple weeks ago), she was 2lbs 15oz. :-) She is funny; she doesn't mind wearing clothes, but some of them she LOVES and gets excited about. Others, she hates and will run away when I take them out. I'm amazed that she can even differentiate! heh.

We have three Italian Greyhounds and a Pharaoh hound, all short haired skinny dogs that LOVE to be warm. Trouble is, stuffing them into most dog sweaters (the ones that actually fit their chests) is too difficult so they usually do without. What very little time they spend outside in the winter is just long enough to do their business and then it's right back ino the house and back under whatever blanket they were burrowed under.

I have flipped thru this book but still havent' bought it yet. There's some great stuff in there but any dog items I make will likely be for other people's pooches. I did see some nice stuff in it that I'd like to make for myself, some day!
