I would like to know are there any site out there to give me tips on heirloom knitting lace?
If you're looking for a lace primer, then I would check out Eunny Jang's series of posts on lace technique.
The links to the posts themselves are in the "Techniques" section down the right-hand side of the page. These were adapted into articles for Interweave Knits and offer a pretty good overview of lace techniques.

The Eunny Jang site is a great place to start.
