Casas Grandes Sweater

I am starting to spin up the yarn for a sweater that will be my first attempt at steeking. I will use three colors: Orchid, White and Black. The design will be a diamond design that I found on a piece of pottery for sale on the Alltribes website. I call the project my Casas Grandes sweater after the style of pottery. I will post updates as I progress.

Thanks, Andres. I hope to achieve the clarity I see in your work.

I'll second that opinon - the orchid with white and black should be stunning!
MMario - ambiguity is cultivated, it doesn't happen in a vacuum!

MMario - I'm not divorced from reality - we're having a trial separation

Thank you, Mario (my uncle's name also) for your vote of confidence. My weakest area is in color coordination. My theory now: don't reinvent the wheel- observe how others who know what they are doing have worked their colorways and emulate them. I think this is a good way to learn.

Hmmm...I have been pondering getting a drum carder...

This is a Patrick Green drum carder, motorized, that I bought about 20 years ago. It greatly facilitates preparing the wool and blending colors. I think there are many more brands available now. Of course, in those days there was no internet.
