WIP frenzy

Uhhh...I just realized I now have four works in progress. A k1p1-ribbed scarf knitted with very thick wool yarn (for a guy friend of mine), a mermaid scarf for which I just completed the knitted fringe...now only half the scarf left to knit...ARGH!, my amorphous blob and/or squirrel, whichever... and finally Brooke's Column of Leaves scarf.

And I also just bought the "101 Designer One-Skein Wonders" book from Borders and have somehow "accidentally" managed to order several skeins with which to complete some projects from the book. Oh lord, I am going crazy. LOL

Back to the yarn pile!

grasshopper - you don't know the half of it! WIP frenzy doesn't even *begin* until you find yourself running out to buy an extra needle set so you can cast on that new project; - then there's the throwing of a couple skeins into the car as you go grocery shopping - just in case you get caught in traffic and have time to cast on that scarf yo8u've been wanting to knit...

after that it starts to become an obsession....

LOL

Does it count that I've begun sliding projects onto spare needles of other sizes so I can use their needles to work another project? Heh...and I take my knitting to work and throw some stitches around in between calls and after lunch.

I have sworn to myself that I will not start any more projects until I finish at least something!

I'm on the last bit of a Baby Alpaca Grande vest having almost finished the front (I just need to bind it off). I just need to assemble the two pieces and knit up the arm and neck bands. Fortunately, that should go quickly.

Sanity is Sooooo over rated, I figure as long as I finish something occasionally there's nothing wrong with casting on!

I am trying to do one thing at a time....

"Trying" is always a worthwhile goal; however, "achieving" can sometimes be fruitless.

hehe...I'm currently at 18 UFOs - hopefully tonight I'll finish 2 - the Irish Hiking Scarf and a pair of socks in Tofutsies (Tidal Wave pattern). My LYS doesn't help me stop this trend. They actually encourage me to start new ones....here lookie this yarn, see doesn't this sample swatch look great in entrelac, we're giving a class next Thursday....etc.

However, I don't want to be cured, and eventually I finish a few projects about the same time (by the salami method - a little slice on this one today, then a little on that)

To fix: repair (For me...client's work gets done first)
1 heavy sweater being turned into a zip jacket
2 I sweater to dye and felt
3 cashmere sweaters to fix hems/seams
2 holes in wool sweaters
1 hem to replace (broken yarn)

2 interlac sweaters to finish (one mohair) each half done
2 kaffe fassett sweaters to finish each half done
2 hats to finish (one...just bought yarn)

innumerable socks/sweaters to wash and dry.

DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED...

To keep my life a bit sane, I try not to have any more than one or two projects going at the same time. That way, I'm driven to complete them and am not surrounded by incompleteness.
