Wow! This is exqisite. I can't imagine even tackling something like this. Maybe a dumb question, but is this knit flat? Can you imagine a sweater with this swirling star as a motif?

That was my first thought, a sweater! :) It's absolutely beautiful.

Wonderful. How large is the doily? What size needle did you use? What weight of yarn did you use?

Wow Jerome!! That's incredible. You must tell us more about how you did it... just like Tom asks... I'm sure more people will want to know what type of yarn and what size needles you used! Congratulations on a beautiful piece of work!!

I totally agree qith everyone esle, excellent work!

Have been knitting for years. I knit continually then will try another craft, but will return to the needles.

I'm not really into doilies (although I've tatted a number of them my wife doesn't really allow doilies around our house) :-) and I've never (EVER) had the desire to knit one... until now! Wow... Looks great!

I've been looking for a "star" for the center of a shawl - I think I've found it....(I'll steal ideas wherever I can find them)

at 30+ inches a few more rounds of an edge would make this a nice lap throw;

I agree MMario. How long did it take to do this? I have to add this to "to-do" file.

Two thumbs up!!! Great job.

This is really stunning. I don't even know if doily (though correct), is a word worthy enough to describe something so spectacular as this. I looove the crazy amount of texture, I think if I were near this I wouldn't be able to stop touching it.

I have actually seen this thing in real life and it was pretty nice. I usually dont like all this girly craft shit. Seeing this made me want to start knitting thats why Jerome...aka Queen has agreed to teach me.
