Organization Rears It's Ugly Head

Tonight's the night.

I have the stash piled high around the dining room table... laptop at the ready... digital camera poised to shutter...

I am taking photos of the stash and I am going to enter it - all - into Ravelry. Picstures, brand, colorway, weight, yardage, where purchased... the whole kit and kaboodle!!

"Excuse me... bartender? Can I get another Johnny Walker Red Label on the rocks, please?"

Bwahahahaahaha, I knew you couldn't resist. It's mostly painless. Mostly

Ohmygoodlord. You're tempting me to do the same. I shall resist for now. Unless your stash is WONDERFUL. Then I may have to cave...

I just signed up at ravelry :)

Now i have to wait a couple weeks to get in :(

Unfortunately, my firewall at work won't let me into ravelry (I'm frankly surprised I can get to MWK) so I'll have to wait and sign up at home tonight.

...don't know where to start...
it was hard enough to take pics of some of the finished pieces...LOL

I started by pulling out all my yarn by one company and did it that way. of course I didn't do all my yarn, because I have to sneak it all out here. The kids don't know about my yarn obsession yet, they only know of the quilting, cross stitch and bobbin lace.

Excellent suggestion!! It is so much easier when you group it by yarn manufacturer!!

Although I am in Ravelry, I don't grasp the concept of entering one's stash into the website- I gives me a creepy Borg kind of thing.

I started just after nine p.m. last night... it is now 7:20 a.m. (I work nights so even on my days off, I find something to do all night.) I am not "done" but I have made a fairly significant dent in entering the stash. I have gotten through 2 of the 3 plastic bins that I store my yarn in... only one more to go!

I wanted to take "full advantage" of the Ravelry technology so I am going needle, yarn and sinker!! I have alot of yarns that I truly don't know what to do with and I like the feature of linking to projects that other people have done with that yarn.

For those of you who choose to look at my stash... (perverts... looking at my stash while I'm sleeping!!) you will notice that I have a wide spectrum... from beautiful hand-painted, hand-spun, boutique yarns in fancy fibers to the most unnatural creations that man and petroleum could create!

Knit On, Brothers! (And keep hiding that stash, My Michigan Sistah!!)

HEY! you're dangling your stash out there in public, so who's the pervert? Just because we can't look away doesn't make us perverts, it makes us......curious :D you know we're all comparing our stash to yours and some of us are feeling inadequate and maybe a bit jealous.
